International nightmare could continue for Man United star after this weekend because of this

With international fixtures on the horizon again, it’s time for national team managers to bed down their squad for upcoming games.

Gareth Southgate has matches against Wales, Denmark and Belgium to come, and must select the players to represent the Three Lions by next Thursday.

After a short summer break where he was arrested for allegedly assaulting police officers in Greece, Harry Maguire was left out of England’s last games.

The Man United captain comes back into contention for the triple header, but it’s possible that his national team nightmare could continue.

According to the Daily Mail, Southgate’s right-hand man, Steve Holland, will be in attendance at the AMEX Stadium this weekend, when Brighton and Hove Albion will host the Red Devils.

Serie A manager assesses Andrea Pirlo chances of success in management

Filippo Inzaghi has tipped Andrea Pirlo to have a good career in club management.

The former midfielder was the surprising pick to become the next Juventus manager after the Old Ladies fired Maurizio Sarri.

He became their manager with no senior managerial experience and some may feel that a club like Juventus might be too big a step for him at this moment in time.

However, Benevento manager Inzaghi believes that it is actually an advantage for him to manage a team of top stars because when things go wrong on the pitch, the players will know what to do.

He admitted that management is different from playing, however, having spent so much time in the locker room as a player managed by some of the game’s top managers, it makes the transition to coaching easy, he reckons.

Inzaghi was speaking on the ‘Tiki-Taka’ show and was quoted by Tuttosport Read the rest

Juventus under Police investigation over alleged Luis Suarez language test fraud

This could get messy for Juventus if the reports that are emerging are anywhere near the truth.

Forbes is claiming that officials in Perugia have enough evidence to show that Luis Suarez cheated his Italian language test by having advanced notice of the questions and that his final grade has already been agreed.

Suarez had been linked with a move to Juventus ever since he was informed by the new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman that he did not feature in his plans going forward.

Those links soon hardened but to complete a move to any Italian club Suarez had to obtain Italian citizenship, which included a language test.

Well, he passed with flying colours and that has raised questions and prompted Spanish media outlet Deportes Cuatro to conduct an investigation.

Deportes Cuatro, as cited in the same article from Forbes, has since reported that Suarez “knew how to speak and … Read the rest

BBC uncover Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich’s links to players of rival clubs

In what is likely to come as news to the Chelsea hierarchy, it’s been alleged that their owner, Roman Abramovich, held a financial interest in rival players, including one who played against the Blues.

BBC’s Panorama programme uncovered the findings, which is likely to send shock waves through the Premier League and beyond.

The Daily Star refer to leaked documents which apparently show that the Russian held rights in certain players.

Any financial aspects of his investment went through Leiston Holdings, a company that was based in the British Virgin Islands, however, the Daily Star report his spokeswomen as stressing that neither rules or regulations were broken.

Andre Carrillo played against the Blues in two Champions League games back in 2014, whilst at Sporting Lisbon.

According to the Daily Star, Leiston Holdings apparently secured 50 per cent of Carrillo’s ‘economic rights’ when they loaned Sporting approximately £850,000 back in 2011, … Read the rest
